The Buzz: What Are The Differences Between Disney's Pop Century and Port Orleans Resorts?
Posted by: CRCrazy on 07/31/2010 (8 hours ago)

I've stayed at Pop Century several times, and enjoyed it each time, although in different ways.

I've never stayed at POR, although we did eat at Boatwright's on our last trip, and my DH actually said he'd like to stay there next trip - which is a huge jump for him. He doesn't usually like to stay anywhere other than AKL or CR, but defers to my budgetary restrictions.

We did stay at POFQ on that last trip - and I thoroughly enjoyed it, as did both DH and my ...

The Buzz: Do You Take Advantage Of Extra Magic Hours?

For us, it all depends on the time of year we're going. If we're there in a slower season (we love to go in January!) we always take advantage of EMH, and if the park seems to be getting too crowded after EMH is over, we'll hop to another park. In busier seasons, we do tend to avoid the parks with EMH. This past June we went to Star Wars Weekend, and the only time we did EMH was on our HS day so that we could get in line to get my son into Jedi Training Academy. We stuck to the non-EMH parks ...

The Buzz: Pin Trading Tips

Image of Disney Hollywood Studios - Pin Trading submitted by home4us123 from the PassPorter Photo Archive
My DD fell in love with Pin Trading during our 2007 trip. During that trip she purchased a starter set with lanyard and 6 or 8 pins. She also purchased a few sets of 2 or 4 pins that were not too expensive. She at first just traded for pins she thought were kind of cool. Then she learned about Hidden Mickey pins and so she started trading only for those. Before our 2009 trip I purchased a couple of lots of pins on ebay for her to trade. She kept some of those and traded the others. The keepers ...

The Buzz: Best Viewing Spots for Hollywood Studios Block Party Bash Parade

The Block Party Bash is a awesome parade. We always have so much fun. I also would recommend near the steps of American Idol and it is kinda shaded too. Basically the parade moves from the beginning of the park all the way up to the Hat and then all the floats stop right where they're at. The performances then begin for this side of the parade route. You will see dancers, characters, trampoline acrobatics, scooters, pogo jumpers, etc. They also invite the children in to dance with them. Then ...

The Buzz: Caribbean Beach Resort Review

We just tried CBR in June for the first time, and LOVED it! The pool is one of the best of any on-site resort, the food court is great and always had good variety and tasty food, and the whole resort is so beautiful.

We stayed in a pirate room and were very happy with it. My kids loved the theme and sleeping in pirate ship beds, and the walk was fine (my boys are 3 and 6). It was really hard to pull them out of that pool! If you'd rather be close to OPR, it's worth it to pay for a ...

Our kids are 4 and 11 and Epcot is their favorite park.smiley for :)

In Future World the kids love Soarin, Test Track, Nemo, Journey Into Imagination With Figment and Spaceship Earth. Turtle Talk With Crush is another favorite. It's a cute interactive show where Crush is on the screen and he talks to the kids. Have them sit up front and he might answer one of their questions. There are a lot of hands on things for the ...

The Buzz: Is Cirque du Soleil Worth Seeing?

I've seen several Cirque shows and La Nouba is definitely worth the price in my book! :waytogo: I've sat close, in the midde and far away. If you've never seen a Cirque show before I recommend Category 2 seats. I think you get a good overview from those seats and yet you're not too far away. I loved sitting close - you can really see the expressions and the amazing strength/flexibility of the performers, but when you sit that close I think it's easy to miss some things since there is a lot ...

The Buzz: Should We Pre-order The PhotoPass CD?

I've had wonderful experience with it and feel it's worth every penny. Of course paying for it ahead of time, I make sure I approach all the photographers I see and I tell them don't be shy with the photos, that I've preordered. Then I come home and edit my photos. Last year I had about 250 original pictures from an 8 day vacation and with borders, etc, they turned into 1100 pictures. The best part about the preorder though is for those that whatever the reason don't get a lot of photos or ...
